13 Green Dot Students Awarded $20,000 Dell Scholarships
After a competitive round of national applications, 13 Green Dot Public School students were accepted into the prestigious Dell Scholars Program. Funded by the Susan & Michael Dell Foundation, the Dell Scholars program equips 500 students with a Dell Laptop, textbook credits, academic resources, mentorship opportunities-and a $20,000 scholarship.
“We have exceptional and talented students all across our Green Dot network of schools, and our thirteen Dell Scholars are a testament to the excellence we see every day,” says Janneth Johnson-Smith, Senior Director of Counseling and College Persistence at Green Dot. “And a special shout out to our counselors, college advisors, and Counselor Support Specialist for supporting our students throughout the Dell Scholarship Process.”
To apply, students must be on track to graduate high school with A-G credits, demonstrate a need for financial assistance, be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant in the first year of college, enroll full time at a higher education institution, and earn a minimum of a 2.4 GPA.
“Our students deserve to have their hard work rewarded,” says Theresa Asuncion, College & Career Success Coordinator at Green Dot.
Green Dot Public Schools is committed to preparing all students for college, leadership, and life. Across the network, our schools provide students with high-quality teachers, safe learning environments, robust support, and college resources to ensure they have every opportunity to succeed.
