Standing Together for Our Scholars and Communities and Updates for Next Week

Dear Green Dot Families,

This past week has been deeply challenging for our city. The wildfires that have impacted Los Angeles have touched the lives of so many, and we want to take a moment to acknowledge the heartbreak and uncertainty this situation has brought to our community. As we move forward, Green Dot remains committed to providing your children with a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for learning and growth.

At this time, we are still evaluating conditions and are not yet certain whether campuses will reopen on Monday. We will provide an update as soon as possible and to ensure that all decisions prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and communities.

Ensuring Safety and Health

The safety and well-being of your children and our staff is our top priority. As our campuses prepare for a potential reopen, we are taking the following precautions to ensure a safe and healthy environment:

  • Air Quality Monitoring: We are continuously assessing air quality at all campuses to ensure it is safe for in-person activities. Air quality will be continually monitored across all our campuses at the highest quality to ensure students, staff and faculty safety across all of our campuses.
  • Sanitation Protocols: Enhanced cleaning measures are in place to promote a hygienic environment for everyone on campus.
  • Counseling Support: We are offering resources to support the emotional well-being of students during this challenging time.

We also encourage families to take additional precautions by sending your children to school with an N95 mask to ensure their protection. Our staff will also work to provide a safe indoor environment during this time.

Our Commitment to Learning and Community

We are so proud of how our students, families, and staff have come together during this crisis. Last week, our schools transitioned seamlessly to distance learning, ensuring no instructional time was lost. We also distributed grab-and-go meals at every campus to support not only our students but all community members in need.

As we evaluate our ability to return to campuses, we will continue to stand together, providing our scholars with the stability and care they need to thrive in these difficult times.

Thank you for your partnership, resilience, and trust. Together, we will navigate this moment and emerge stronger as a community.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your school’s office.

Warm regards,
Cristina De Jesus
