Can I apply to multiple schools?
Yes, you can apply to several schools by filling out the interest form.
What are the steps to apply?
Submit an interest form online at https://greendotpublicschools.schoolmint.net or mail in a hard copy interest form. If your student is offered a seat, you will need to complete an enrollment packet online at https://greendotpublicschools.schoolmint.net.
Do you accept students with special needs or an IEP?
Yes! We welcome all students, regardless of background, academic record, or special education eligibility.
Can I still apply after the lottery?
Yes! Families may submit an application after the lottery window closes. Applications received after the lottery are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on available seats.
How will I be notified if my child is accepted?
Families who apply during the lottery will receive a letter by mail and a SchoolMint notification with either an offer of enrollment or a waitlist number. Applicants who apply after the lottery will receive a SchoolMint notification, email, or phone call with an enrollment offer. If your address or phone number has changed since you submitted your application, please contact the school as soon as possible to update your information.
In order to reserve your child’s seat, please accept your offer before the designated deadline. If you do not accept the offer before the deadline your offer will be withdrawn.
What is the lottery?
Each year, if a school receives more applications than they can accommodate, a random, public lottery will be held, as required by charter law.
If more students apply than there are seats available, a randomized lottery is conducted to determine offers and waitlist positions.
When is the lottery held?
Our lottery for the 2026-27 school year will take place between December 9, 2025 -December 11,2025. Please see the school website for the date and time of the lottery.
How does the waitlist work?
The number of available spaces varies by school and grade. Hosting a lottery ensures that each student has an equal opportunity to be accepted. Once all available seats have been filled, the lottery will continue to generate a waitlist. All remaining students are placed on the waitlist in the order their names were drawn. If space becomes available, students from the waitlist may be admitted.
How will I be notified if my child is selected?
All parents will be notified of their student’s acceptance status or number on the waitlist shortly after the lottery is completed. Your attendance at the lottery is encouraged but not mandatory. To ensure you receive prompt notification, it’s crucial that you provide an accurate mailing address and phone number on your application. If your address or phone number has changed since you applied, please notify the school as soon as possible.
Are certain students given priority during the lottery process? What are the potential lottery preferences a student could receive?
- Sibling of current student that attends the school you are applying to
- Child of Green Dot employee
- Attending a Green Dot middle school
- Living in the district
Do I need to attend the lottery drawing?
Attendance is highly recommended, but not required. If you cannot attend, you will be notified of your child’s admittance status shortly after the lottery via mail. Parents or guardians can also log onto SchoolMint to see if their child has been offered a seat or placed on a waitlist.
How long do I have to accept an offer?
You must accept an offer by the deadline listed in your notification to secure your child’s seat. If you do not accept your offer by the deadline your offer will be withdrawn.
If my student is currently attending a Green Dot school do I still need to fill out an application for a Green Dot high school?
Yes. A new application is required when applying to one of our high schools, even if your student currently attends a Green Dot middle school. If you apply during the lottery period, your student may receive priority consideration; however, placement is not guaranteed.
Do I have to reapply every year for my student?
Do I have to apply to my student’s feeder high school if my student is already attending a Green Dot middle school?
- Yes, parents or guardians must submit a new application when applying for high school. However, students coming from a Green Dot middle school that is considered a feeder school may be given priority, though it does not guarantee a spot into the high school.
Who can I contact for help with the application?
You can reach the school’s enrollment team by phone or email during regular business hours. They can help with completing the application, submitting documents, or answering any other questions.
