How This Robotics Program Is Preparing Students in Watts for the Future

This year, Ánimo College Prep Academy (ACPA) students participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition, an international tournament that combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science, and technology. In just six weeks, ACPA students designed, built, and programmed a 120 pound industrial sized robot. Although at first the task felt challenging, together ACPA students learned to problem solve, collaborate, and work through failure to achieve a shared goal. In today’s technology driven world, the robotics program at ACPA is just one of the many ways Green Dot is preparing students for future careers.
