Change the Odds for Students

For more than 25 years, Green Dot Public Schools has worked to transform public education so that all students graduate prepared for college, leadership, and life. Grounded in our belief that a high-quality public education creates pathways to social and economic mobility, our charter elementary, middle and high schools are purposefully located in culturally vibrant neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles that have historically received the least investment and the fewest resources. We refuse to accept that any student’s dreams should be limited by their zip code, and we envision a future where public schools serve as engines of transformative opportunity and generational empowerment.

All Means All

At Green Dot, “All Means All” is more than a saying — it’s the cornerstone of the work. We meet students where they are and prioritize those furthest from opportunity, including students from socioeconomically challenged communities, newcomers, English language learners, students with special needs, students experiencing homelessness, and foster youth. Together with families, educators, and communities, we create schools where every student feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.

College, Leadership, Life

Rooted in Green Dot’s mission, we prepare students to graduate ready for college, leadership, and life through rigorous academics, supportive school communities, and opportunities that expand pathways to success.

Transforming Public Education

Whether it's learning about AI best practices or connecting students to paid internships, we invest in innovative learning practices and student-centered programs that will help our scholars thrive both now and in the future.

Black Student Success

We’re committed to celebrating the genius of our Black students and closing persistent equity gaps by providing consistent mentorship and support through college advising, family engagement, and culturally affirming programs and events.

Whole Child Approach

A student can only succeed as a learner when all of their needs are being met. We prioritize the academic, social, and emotional well-being of every student through integrated student services, mental health support, and opportunities that foster belonging and joy.

Facilities and Capital Support

Students and staff deserve safe, modern, and inspiring learning environments that they can call home. Investments in campus renovations, infrastructure updates, and capital projects help ensure our schools remain spaces where students can thrive.

Systems-Level Change and Growth

Green Dot works to create lasting impact beyond the classroom by strengthening systems and building sustainable models that advance educational equity across the communities we serve.

100% Commitment to
Equity

Our commitment to equity is exemplified by our efforts to ensure every student has access to rigorous academic programs, regardless of background or circumstance.

100% Entrepreneurial
Spirit

We cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit among our students and staff, empowering them to innovate and pursue their passions.

100% Belief in
Students

Green Dot’s students are exceptional and thrive in an environment with care, support, and unlimited expectations.

The Opportunity Fund:
Supporting Scholars After Graduation

For over 25 years, Green Dot Public Schools has opened doors for students in underserved communities. But we know that the journey doesn’t end at high school graduation. True equity means ensuring our alumni don’t just reach college — they thrive there.

Removing the Barriers to Success

Financial aid covers tuition, but it rarely accounts for the “hidden” costs that can derail a degree. The Opportunity Fund is a flexible, privately funded scholarship designed to cover the essential, often unexpected expenses that stand between a student and their degree, including:

  • Technology
  • Transportation
  • Dorm supplies
