Green Dot Public Schools serves thousands of first-generation college-going students from low-income households. We strive to prepare our graduates for college, providing them the resources they need to build and sustain pathways to prosperity. Our goal is to close the college completion gap for our students through innovative persistence programs and partnerships with colleges and undergraduate programs.
Green Dot Alumni Programs
Alumni Champions
Alumni Champions (Green Dot teachers or counselors) coach students through enrollment and the first year of college, offering the guidance they need to ultimately graduate. They connect students to the variety of services available on campus and maintain communication with the alumni.
University Mentors
Green Dot graduates (rising college sophomores, juniors or seniors) are matched with current Green Dot seniors who intend to enroll at the same college, creating a network that fosters the sense of community which students experience in Green Dot middle and high schools.
Senior Send Off Celebration
Launch to College is a rite-of-passage event that transitions Green Dot's seniors to their next endeavors. The event allows graduates to network with others who are pursuing the same interests, offers workshops on managing personal finances, and introduces successful past alums.
Ready, Set, Go Workshops
Green Dot hosts summer workshops for alumni that offer additional support for the transition to life after high school. Topics include financial literacy, tips on college registration and creating a schedule, tips from alums on choosing a career path, and maintaining financial aid throughout 4 years of college.
