Academics
Students at Oscar De La Hoya Ánimo Charter High School thrive with a diverse selection of courses. They can challenge themselves with AP classes like Biology, Government, Pre-Calculus, World History, Spanish Language, Spanish Literature, Calculus, and Statistics, or even get a head start on college with dual enrollment through East Los Angeles College. Our dual enrollment program allows students to earn college credit on our campus during the regular school day – at no cost.
Counseling
We prepare all of our students for college, leadership, and life. Our dedicated college counseling program provides personalized guidance to help students navigate the college application process, explore career options, and develop essential life skills. Through one-on-one counseling and college visits, we ensure every student is equipped to make informed decisions about their future. At Oscar De La Hoya Ánimo Charter High School, we are committed to empowering our students to reach their highest potential.
Campus Life
Oscar De La Hoya Ánimo Charter High School offers a vibrant campus life that fosters growth, creativity, and community engagement. Our students enjoy a variety of extracurricular activities – from sports like soccer, volleyball, and cross country, to arts programs, including a world-class marching band and theater productions. We prioritize the holistic development of our students by providing social-emotional support, academic enrichment, and college counseling. With small class sizes and a dedicated faculty, students receive personalized attention and support.
STEM
Our STEM program, featuring the Principles of Biomedical Science Pathway, empowers students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This year, we proudly received the California Community School Grant, allowing us to connect families to partners and programs that support their needs. We are dedicated to facilitating innovation and excellence in STEM education.

We have a strong sense of community with our sister school, Ánimo Ellen Ochoa Charter Middle School. Many students graduate from Ánimo Ellen Ochoa and continue on their path to college readiness on our campus.
