Our school is named after the first Latina Astronaut in space, inspiring our STEM forward curriculum. Ánimo Ellen Ochoa Charter Middle School places a very high emphasis on the academic success and emotional well-being of all students. It is with great honor that we announce that Ánimo Ellen Ochoa Charter Middle School has been recognized as a California School to Watch for 2025 and awarded the seal of a Distinguished School! Only 5–10% of schools in California receive the Distinguished School seal each year, and AEO is the first middle school in Green Dot to earn this recognition. Astros, be proud! This achievement is a true testament to the hard work of our staff, students, and families.
