Music programs help students focus for success in academics and life

The Music program is a vital part of students at Green Dot’s Hillcrest High School in Memphis, helping students gain focus and express their feelings, which in turn helps them improve their academic achievements.

“Music and intelligence in academics are linked together,” explained Zeporia Gray, music teacher and Band Director at Hillcrest. “There’s so many things that a music program can do for its school.”

Music is one of various programs at the Memphis school, which includes football, robotics, basketball, yoga, dance team, soccer and cheer.
