GDPST RE-ENTRY AND RECOVERY UPDATES

Teacher – (n) tee-cher: A multitasking educational rockstar who lives to inspire and loves to encourage. They’re kind of a BIG DEAL! – Unknown Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Green Dot Public Schools TN is excited for another opportunity to celebrate teachers. Nationally, schools, students , parents and the community have used this week to honor the people who make a difference daily. Because we appreciate what our teachers bring to the table, we choose one time a year to acknowledge their achievements in and out of the classroom through our version of the “teacher Oscars”, but of course, it’s called the Dotties. These teachers are nominated by their peers and selected by a peer panel, blindly selecting winners based on the written nomination. We are honored these winners chose Green Dot Public Schools TN to share their super powers. Congratulations to all of our Green Dot Tennessee Dotties Winners!

Hitting the Target We are extremely proud of the hard work and effort schools have put into ensuring students are coming to the schools for TNReady testing. Schools have been testing for the past two weeks and have met the state goal for 80% or better test completion. Here’s where we are after two full weeks and we’re looking forward to a consistent, strong finish.

Vaccines
Safety and wellness are foundational to our re-entry plan for complete in person learning this Fall. We are partnering with several entities to get our GDPST family vaccinated. If you are interested in getting a vaccine for yourself, a family member or student who is 16 yrs or older, please contact Jocquell Rodgers, Jocquell.rodgers@greendot.org. In the email, provide your first and last name, phone number, school your student attends and the full names and ages of everyone to receive a vaccine.
