Academics
Ánimo Inglewood Charter High School provides a rigorous curriculum for all students. Our graduation requirements are aligned with the University of California A-G subject requirements. Most students go beyond the minimum. Our academic program is organized into a rotating block schedule with six academic classes every semester, each with a potential for 5 credits.
College counseling
Ánimo Inglewood provides robust college counseling through our dedicated team of counselors and strategic partnerships with community-based organizations, such as Educational Talent Search – Volunteers of America, College Match, POSSE, Boys & Girls Club – Women in Entertainment, and Minds Matter. These collaborations ensure our students receive comprehensive support and guidance as they navigate their paths toward higher education and career readiness.
Campus Life
Ánimo Inglewood’s campus is a safe and joyful environment where students can thrive, supported by a strong sense of school spirit. We take pride in fostering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages personal growth and community engagement.
AP Courses
Students are recommended for AP courses based on Lexile score data and students must opt in. Students can also opt into an AP course if not initially offered the course option based on the data. Students may opt into all AP courses if enrollment space permits it. This academic year, we brought back one section of AP Calculus due to student interest and continued with one section of AP Statistics for Seniors as well as a new section of AP Statistics for Juniors.
The arts program at Ánimo Inglewood Charter High School is a vital part of our commitment to providing a comprehensive education. Our students have the opportunity to explore their creativity through visual arts, music, theater, and dance. With state-of-the-art facilities and experienced instructors, we nurture artistic talent and encourage self-expression. Participation in the arts not only enhances creativity but also builds confidence and fosters collaboration. Our vibrant arts community is a testament to the importance we place on cultivating well-rounded individuals.
Athletics & Clubs
Although our focus is on setting high expectations for academic performance, we understand the importance of balance and engagement in positive, character-building activities that help students feel connected. We offer a variety of clubs, both student and faculty led, through our Expanded Learning program. We partner with our sister school Ánimo Leadership Charter High School and participate in the Harbor League of the CIF Southern Region conference for the following sports: baseball, softball, girls’ and boys’ volleyball, girls’ and boys’ soccer, cross country, and girls’ and boys’ basketball.
