Tutor.com Welcomes Green Dot Public Schools to Its Family of K–12 Partnerships
NEW YORK, March 16, 2021 /— Tutor.com, one of the world's largest online tutoring services, today announced that Green Dot Public Schools, one of the largest charter school networks in the U.S., has selected Tutor.com to provide online tutoring services for the network’s 11,038 students in grades 6–12 across all 19 of its California charter schools.
Through the partnership, students enrolled in Green Dot CA schools can access 24/7, on-demand, 1-to-1 learning support from Tutor.com's expert tutors. From English and Spanish homework help across more than 120 subjects to drop-off essay review and test prep, students can get crucial learning support anytime, anywhere—whenever they need it.
“We are thrilled about this partnership and honored to serve Green Dot students and support their dedicated teachers,” said Ed Ceja, Area Vice President, Educational Partnerships, Tutor.com. “As we worked with Green Dot leaders to customize this program, we were impressed by their commitment to helping students overcome disrupted learning and achieve ambitious academic goals.”
“Our partnership with Tutor.com has been a bright spot for our students since we transitioned to distance learning nearly one year ago,” said Annette Gonzalez, Green Dot California Chief Academic Officer. “It has been invaluable to be able to provide our students with additional support and resources during this challenging time.”
Post-session student survey comments attest to the partnership’s early impact. One Green Dot School student wrote: “I really enjoyed this tutor. He was very helpful and gave off a positive energy. He responded promptly and clarified my questions. 10/10 for a tutor.” In the words of another: “I really loved using this tutoring service and for my first time using it, I was able to understand my work better and I received the help I needed to be able to find a solution for the problem I needed support with. The tutor that helped me was really great and was understanding and I really liked that. They asked me if I understood the problem and were able to get through the problem at a good pace.”
In addition to supporting students, the partnership also enables Green Dot CA administrators to access real-time data and analytics through Tutor.com’s Client Portal, a dashboard providing information about tutoring session activity. There they can get actionable data to address curricular challenges and provide just-in-time support for students who need it.
Tutor.com's more than 3,000 tutors provide encouraging, empowering online tutoring to communities of learners through the company's partnerships with hundreds of K–12 school districts as well as institutions of higher education.
