May 24, 2021 (MEMPHIS, TN) -- Bluff City High School, established in 2018 by Green Dot Public Schools, celebrates the Class of 2021, the school’s first class of seniors who graduated on Saturday, May 22nd. The school was founded to provide high-quality, free education options to families in Memphis.

“We are so proud of our trailblazing Class of 2021,” says Principal Lameika Pegues. “Our seniors led the way and set the tone for Bluff City High. Our school’s team feels especially grateful for our partnership with our students and our families to have reached this achievement. We wish our graduating seniors all the best. We know that after the last 15 months of challenges, they are prepared for anything life throws at them.”

Bluff City High School focuses on graduating college-ready learners through rigorous academics, highly effective team members, and working closely with the local community members and parents. The goal is to prepare all students, regardless of background, for college, leadership, and life.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, Bluff City High School’s graduating seniors were separated into two groups with one ceremony at 8:30am and the other at 11:30am. There was a virtual component so that all family, friends, and loved ones were able to support their graduate.

“This is a huge accomplishment of the entire Bluff City community, or pack, as we like to call ourselves,” says Megan Quaile, Executive Director of Green Dot Tennessee. “We are thrilled.”
