Hill St., Ste. 600<\/b><b><br \/><\/b><b>323-565-1600<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The School Liaison shall ensure that:<\/span><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homeless students are identified by school personnel and through coordination activities with other<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">entities and agencies.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homeless students enroll in, and have a full and equal opportunity to succeed at Green Dot.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homeless students and families receive educational services for which they are eligible, including<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Head Start and Even Start programs, and referrals to health care services, dental services, mental<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">health services, and other appropriate services.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parents\/guardians are informed of the educational and related opportunities available to their<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">children and are provided with meaningful opportunities to participate in the education of their<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">children.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public notice of the educational rights of homeless children is disseminated at places where children<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">receive services, such as schools, shelters, and soup kitchens.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enrollment\/admissions disputes are mediated in accordance with law, the Green Dot charter(s), and<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Board policy.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parents\/guardians and any unaccompanied youth are fully informed of all transportation services, as<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">applicable.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The School Liaison collaborates with State coordinators and community and school personnel<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">responsible for the provision of education and related services to homeless children and youths.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enrollment<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Green Dot shall immediately admit\/enroll the student (subject to the school\u2019s capacity and pursuant to any<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">procedures stated in the charter), even if the student lacks records normally required for enrollment. Hill St., Ste. 600<\/b><b><br \/><\/b><b>323-565-1600<\/b><\/p><p><strong><a class=\"decorated-link cursor-pointer\" href=\"mailto:Homelessandfosterservices@greendot.org\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"298\" data-end=\"385\">Homelessandfosterservices@greendot.org<\/a><\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The School Liaison shall ensure that:<\/span><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homeless students are identified by school personnel and through coordination activities with other<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">entities and agencies.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homeless students enroll in, and have a full and equal opportunity to succeed at Green Dot.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homeless students and families receive educational services for which they are eligible, including<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Head Start and Even Start programs, and referrals to health care services, dental services, mental<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">health services, and other appropriate services.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parents\/guardians are informed of the educational and related opportunities available to their<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">children and are provided with meaningful opportunities to participate in the education of their<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">children.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public notice of the educational rights of homeless children is disseminated at places where children<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">receive services, such as schools, shelters, and soup kitchens.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enrollment\/admissions disputes are mediated in accordance with law, the Green Dot charter(s), and<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Board policy.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parents\/guardians and any unaccompanied youth are fully informed of all transportation services, as<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">applicable.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The School Liaison collaborates with State coordinators and community and school personnel<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">responsible for the provision of education and related services to homeless children and youths.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enrollment<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Green Dot shall immediately admit\/enroll the student (subject to the school\u2019s capacity and pursuant to any<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">procedures stated in the charter), even if the student lacks records normally required for enrollment. Records<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will immediately be requested from the previous school.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the student needs to obtain immunizations or does not possess immunization or other medical records, the<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Principal or designee shall refer the parent\/guardian to the School Liaison. Its presence in counterfeit pills and other substances has tragically led to numerous overdoses and deaths across the country.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In response to the growing concern around fentanyl use in younger age groups, our Charter School and Green Dot Public Schools has worked with the California Department of Public Health to supply our schools with Naloxone in the event of an on campus opioid overdose. Naloxone, also known as Narcan,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a lifesaving medication used to reverse opioid overdose including heroin, fentanyl, and prescription opioid medications. It is safe and easy to use, works almost immediately, and is non-addictive. Staff at each school site have all been trained in the proper administration of the lifesaving drug in the event it must be used.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There have not been any reported cases of fentanyl use at any of our schools. This is just a preventative measure for our students and community. Our Charter School and Green Dot Public Schools encourages and fosters a drug free environment for all students, staff, and the community.
