LAUSD Renews Ánimo Ellen Ochoa, Ánimo Legacy, and Ánimo Jackie Robinson
All three charter schools are led by Green Dot Public Schools California
Los Angeles, CA (November 24, 2020) -- Today, the Los Angeles Unified School District granted 5-year renewal terms for Ánimo Legacy Charter Middle School and Ánimo Jackie Robinson Charter High School and a 2-year renewal term for Ánimo Ellen Ochoa Charter Middle School. All three schools are led by Green Dot Public Schools California, a network of 19 Title I public middle and high schools purposefully located in Los Angeles’ highest-needs communities.
“We are pleased that our partners at LAUSD continue to support our students and families with high quality schools like these,” says Green Dot Public Schools California CEO & President, Dr. Cristina de Jesus. “We are proud to be recognized for our ability to grow student achievement and our integral part in the communities that we serve. Now more than ever, we must continue making progress in preparing all students, regardless of background, for college, leadership, and life.”
All charter schools are subject to routine renewals by their district authorizers to ensure that commitments made to the county and state regarding student achievement and public management are met--this accountability is among the most valuable features of the charter school approach.
